Nikolai's original inception was for Attack on Titan, but I have since changed his story to bring him into the Bungo Stray Dogs fandom.His old AoT story can be found via the link at the bottom of this page!
Nikolai has become a real favourite of mine in the time I've had him (since 19/07/2019!) and I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Attack on Titan world from a Marleyan perspective like Nikki's.Now, my original characters in this series have honestly had very little to do with the main canon of the series. This is mostly because I didn’t want to infringe on any events and make it seem like I’m trying to bend canon to fit my characters. No no, I bend my characters to fit canon.So lets get to the information.
Background Information
Nikolai was born to a wealthy upper class family with generations of wealth and power in their line.
Due to his upbringing, Nikolai has a rather poor outlook on those in "lower classes" as a whole, though he does sympathize with a great deal of them to the point he has gone as far as setting up charities and hosting events specifically for people that otherwise may never be able to live the kind of life he has.Despite this however, Nikolai still views himself as superior in a multitude of ways simply because it was how he was raised. As he gets older, this outlook is more a result of his superior intelligence than it is about being "upper class and lower class" affairs as he is known to belittle even those of the same status as himself.During his childhood, Nikolai was groomed to be an elite from birth. His parents constantly taught him to put those deemed lesser beneath him and instilled in him the idea that he himself was a superior being both in genetics and intellect. This extended not only to those in lower classes, but to those in equal status in society as well and later on, Nikolai applied this to humanity as a whole.Nikolai was, essentially, raised in the lap of luxury with all kinds of opportunities afforded to him from birth well into his adult life. One of his passions from this privileged life is dance and he partakes in it on the regular, occasionally even taking time out of his schedule to attend schools for under privileged youth to teach and sponsor some of interest for competitions.Around the age of five, Nikolai witnessed his first death on the streets when a car struck and killed a couple crossing the street. Rather than finding himself disturbed by the sight, Nikolai smiled, finding himself fascinated by the pain and suffering, something his parents mistook for his ideals of superiority over those of lower status.His parents lack of understanding of the true nature of his smile that night led them to nurture this sadism by allowing him to essentially wreak havoc on and otherwise torment the waitstaff serving in his home for his pleasure, a trait that continues into his adult life.Being incredibly intelligent, Nikolai's parents expected a great deal from him at a young age. As a young teen, his parents put him through extensive medical training, which he excelled at, rising through the ranks to become a very prominent surgeon by the time he was seventeen.By eighteen he was drafted into the military as a medic and by nineteen, he was the primary medic and private surgeon for many wealthy upper classmen and a great deal of the military.During his time in the military, the higher ups took note of Nikolai's enjoyment of others suffering and put him in charge of pulling information out of prisoners unwilling to cooperate under their usual tactics.This lead to Nikolai's promotion to Chief of Reconnaissance and by the time he was twenty-three, he had been put in charge of his own unit comprised of others he'd handpicked himself.At some point during his first year as Chief, Nikolai caught wind of a unit of gift ability users and travelled to the North where he encountered then Captain Marcus Whitby and developed a very unhealthy obsession with man's eyes (to the point he wants to scoop them out and preserve them).After receiving intell that Marcus may have known something of the gifted ability unit, he orchestrated his capture and subsequent torture until Marcus revealed his own purpose for being there. Unfortunately, to Nikolai's dismay, Marcus was not aware of the ability user unit and he was forced to release him.After returning Marcus to his unit, Nikolai instigated the battle between Squad Whitby and other local outfits until the ability user unit was revealed and ultimately taken out by Marcus himself.It is rumoured that Nikolai is searching for rare ability users, such as Marcus Whitney's daughter, and as such, he maintains close contact with people associated with him in the hopes of learning more about the ability she harbours.
The Nikolai being portrayed on Twitter will primarily be his "present version", however, there may be times I'll portray earlier versions of him.This biography may be updated as necessary.
